Reliving 2015

We're not the same person we were a year ago, a month ago or a week ago. We're constantly changing. Experiences don't stop. There’s always something coming. Good or bad, it’s gonna force us to grow. That’s life. We mature with the damage, not with the years. It’s already the last day of 2015 and here I am reflecting of the things that happened to me this year. The roller-coaster experiences was all worth it, I really can say that 2015 molded me in becoming a better person I am right now with the challenges I have encountered, opportunities that were opened, awards that I have received and most of all blessings that came to me.

Do you ever look back at a really good point in your life and wish you had cherished it more? Well you’re not alone, I also did. But somehow here’s a photo diary of mine consisting of the unforgettable experiences I had each month of 2015.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Let’s start my most memorable moment in January, we all knew it Sinulog. You heard it right, I completed the novena then had a blast with my friends at ETC Paintensity Party and during the 18th day of January which is really the feast day. February was a memorable too because I didn’t expect to be part of the TOCCYL 2015 Awardees (Top Outstanding Cebu City Youth Leader ) out of the many youths who joined for it around Cebu, I was part of the top five. And the “graduating feels” haha you know na, as we had the pictorial for our graduation. Then March, I wasn’t able to attach the photo from our graduation ball (im sorry for that) but it was one of the memorable night of my life because the event was against all the odds and yet it was very successful. I’m really proud of myself for that event (tapping my shoulder haha) because it was not just an event for a group of 50 people but it was all for our batch (we had a minimum of 400 participants) and I was the leading organizer like I really can’t believe it guys I tell you haha but then again I don’t have a choice because I am the president of the UCCP. But I really can’t make it without the help of my companions, a big thanks for them. Also, Atty. Go called us in his office for acknowledging our achievement and giving us some token with ate Shamaine Nabua (Chief Girl Scout Medalist  2014) ,me for being the (Chief Girl Scout Medalist 2013) and of course  tita Abcill Alquisola, our ever supportive UC-GSP Adviser because without her guidance and wisdom we really can’t make it through. And not to forget I finally graduated from high school  with awards (yey).

Here comes April, summertime!  Me and my barkada  invaded Medellin for five days and four nights. It was such an unforgettable summer with my friends who became my family as well. We had long walks during the dark night in the cornfields, endless laughs and more. I even conquered my fears in cliff jumping which they said was 30ft tall at Funtastic Island.

May it is! Time to squeeze up your summer because next month will be back to school again. I went Manila for this month specifically at Makati because I am a recipient of the National Discipline Award from AY Foundation and attended the 2015 Awardees’ Gathering. I also had the chance to travel there and at last  I finally rode a train haha I know it sounds funny but I really wanted to because there’s no train in Cebu. Moreover, I was glad to be one of the facilitator in a 3day camp at Alta Cebu which was very fun. Then the rest of the photos there was our adventure with my family.

I’m finally now in college which is very unusual to me because it’s different from high school like I am really trying my best to cope up with the changes. New school, new faces and new environment, I should get well with it. So June, July and August was a transition month for me from high school to college. Some of the photos there were taken from my best friend’s birthday Em and Kath. That was the time where we were reunited back of my hs friends because we already have different schools and courses.

“Ber” months is already starting yey. In September, we had a family gathering, my squad joined the 5K marathon  and most of the photos there were all about the memories with my block mates especially when we were having our taping for our project. They’re fun to be with haha, an amazing block ohyea.

It was this month when I finally started this blog. Most of my adventures were in this blog already so if you wanna know where the photos were taken,it is just around in my blog.( so much "blog" word here sorry for that)

November here you come, you’re getting me older haha just joking it’s just my birth month. November was all about beach moments which I’m afraid I wasn’t able to blog about it ( laziness striked me tho) but I will make it up to you hopefully.

Lastly, December .It’s the season to be jolly fa la la la hahaha, we celebrated Christmas then most of the photos there are my so called “laag” haha because I’m just enjoying the Christmas break .

There you have it guys, my 2015 chronicle(shar) with just a blink of an eye it was like yesterday that I’ve been in my senior year and now I’m already in college. Time really flies swiftly so let us cherish each wonderful moment we have. Nevertheless I am so grateful for my 2015 experience and I hope you too are happy for it. Let us hope for a great 2016 to come. Happy New Year and God bless us all!

Lots of love,Simply Gilian ♥

Easy Fab

Hi everyone, I hope all of you had a fun and safe Halloween last night! I didn't dress up this year, but I always love seeing all the adorable kiddos in their costumes! But let us face the reality, the sembreak is over and it only means that we are going to face books, papers, quizzes, horrible exams and more of school stuffs again. Wait...but behind those sad reality is what we are waiting for "our allowance is back!" right?

Back to my motive, this was a super easy outfit I threw on last weekend after going to Sirao. This is pretty much an effortless look that you've probably worn before or seen on many people.

It's so basic and so comfortable. I love it. As I have mentioned before in my previous posts, I always aim for comfort first but without the need to sacrifice style. I just paired my off-white lace top with black high waisted shorts which I really love because they’re versatile. They’re easy to put on when you need to do a quick change of clothes like what I did and it also make your legs look longer. High waisted shorts can be easily dressed up or down. You can wear them with converse, wedges or slip-ons on my case, and I guarantee people will compliment your outfit either way. Just be confident! It takes a bold girl to rock these babies, hold your head up high and let the world know how great you know you look without bragging!

From the mini-Amsterdam garden we went to Rome(Temple of Leah). The panoramic view there at night is very fascinating and refreshing too. As you approach the temple, you will be in awe of the gigantic gold lions at each side of the stairs leading to the entrance.

I also tried layering it with a blue denim vest to give the outfit more intrigue and depth.

which one do you like , the outfit with the vest or without?

Temple of Leah at night
Through a local motorcycle ride (habal2x) from JY Square Mall in Lahug that will transport you directly to Temple of Leah with a fare of 75 each. For those who uses  private vehicle, you can get here by driving up to Roosevelt St., Brgy. Busay Cebu City. You may address your queries through calling  233 5032.

I would probably be back to this place again.
Lots of love, Simply Gilian ;)

Sirao Flower Farm

Go to places: SIRAO FLOWER FARM

Did you ever hear about the flower farm in Barangay Sirao, Busay? The mini-Amstermdam garden of Cebu? Well, for all those who are wondering about this place worry no more as I share my experience with you.

Sirao flower farm is another new eye-catching spot in Cebu which garnered a lot of attention lately because of its captivating beauty and garden-fresh flowers. The 5,000 sq. meter flower farm has different kinds of flowers. One of the striking flower in the farm are the Celosia locally known as "tapay"  in colors red, yellow, pink and orange and ranges  from dwarf varieties that only grow four to six inches high to vigorous types over three feet tall. The farm is settled down in a beautiful peak of  Barangay Sirao, Busay, Cebu City which is known as the home of fresh and beautiful flowers. Here you can find the farms of flower that you see being sold down at the Freedom Park in Carbon market in prices tripled from the price at the farm to cover the vendor's transportation, market fees and the middlemen.

me around the Celosia flowers

im in love with the view

with your P20.00, you can take a bunch of photos you want around the garden

not to forget a selfie

Along the Transcentral Highway, several roadside stalls are set up from Busay to Sirao for people who wanted to get fresh flowers from its source. For a fee of at least P100, they can have their flowers arranged for a basket or a vase.

In demand to the season (all Saints' and all Souls' day) ,I heard they're going to harvest these flowers today. But still we can see these flowers back in their respective season by December and February.

There are two options to be able to reach the place  through commuting. One is through a local motorcycle ride (habal2x) from JY Square Mall in Lahug that will transport you directly to Sirao with a fare of 200 each (back and forth) or you have to ride a 62C public jeepney from Gaisano Country Mall then drop by Julies Bakeshop in Pit-Os Talamban where another set of local motorcycles are in queue for Sirao. It is around a 45-minute ride from the city to the said barangay.

For those who uses  private vehicle, you can get to Barangay Sirao by driving up to Busay then stretch to Ayala Heights then straight to the farm wherein you can directly see it to your left. ( or you can ask the residents there for an exact location to help you get the place)

I really had a great time with nature's finest gifts.

Lots of love, Simply Gilian ;)

CASUAL FLYDAY

Finally, semestral break  is here! Im glad to be back with this outfit post that I wore goofing around, celebrating the first day of my semestral break.

I've decided to wear something casual and easy to style outfit. An all-black ensemble lends itself nicely to a downtown look. Let’s get real: Nothing will ever replace our beloved black. The darkest shade in the book gets a bad reputation for being snoozy, but I beg to differ— black outfits for fall can be amazingly interesting.

So, I just paired my Karolina slip-ons from Le Bunny Bleu with my own DIY distressed black jeans from JAG with a black halter top. I also accompanied it with red plaids flannel shirt around my waist for a serious ‘90s vibe and aside from that I can also unbutton the plaid shirt and wear it open over  my all black outfit to look chic and effortless.  It can also be used whenever it’s too cold  or  when you changed your mind on not showing much of your  skin while strolling around.

I also added some spice to the outfit by playing around the bonnet and the cap. Which one suits it best, the bonnet or the cap?

Comfy BASIC

COMFY BASIC

When it comes to dressing up, I admit that the 'comfort factor' is my most important consideration may it be for home days or when I am out and about.   So basically, I aim for comfort first but without the need to sacrifice style.  Here's my idea of simple and at the same time comfy outfit.

I just paired my white shirt with black shorts and a pair of sandals. Not to forget a cap to cover your face from the heat of the sun. So simple and whalaaa I'm ready to go :)

PS: I am really sorry the photos are not in good quality because I forgot to bring my cam that time so i just used the camera phone but i still hope this will work. (Positive vibes unlock)
